What's New

The Big Move....
After 40 years in Washington, we’ve moved to Prescott, Arizona. We’re looking forward to four mild seasons, with plenty of new trails to explore.

Ranch roping continues to be high on Marc’s list of “things to get better at.” He’s also having fun developing Stuart, the three-year-old gelding he purchased from the Atwood Ranch. Now that he's getting older Marc is giving him more jobs to do. He's good on the trail and coming along as a ranch roping horse.

Marc continues to be available to all his students in the Pacific Northwest for phone and video consultations and looks forward to hearing about your continuing successes, and well as provide help when you run into problems.

In Arizona, Marc is available for classes, workshops, and consultations on all things relating to horsemanship and horse behavior. He is eager to show you how to get the best from your horse and from yourself.

Meet Stuart

Stuart is a just-3-year-old Atwood gelding that Marc will be bringing along. Stuart is a quick learner and loves puzzles and doing new things.

He’s already been on trail rides and especially likes it when he gets to be in charge of the mares that he ponies along.

Thanks to the foundation he got at the Atwood Ranch, Stu is the easiest horse Marc has ever started. Little Mary (on the right above) is getting used to having a youngster around.

Stay tuned for their new adventu
res.

A Tip From Marc

When should you get off your horse? The first time it crosses your mind!

We’ve all picked ourselves off the ground thinking “I knew I should have gotten off.”! And yet we stayed in the saddle (for a little while), hit the ground, hurt ourselves and probably lost a fair amount of confidence.

If you feel afraid (or uncomfortable) about a situation, get off. When your horse loses confidence and gets panicky, get off.

That’s when he needs your leadership the most, and if you are unsure or afraid, you’ve created a formula for disaster.
